Huawei has made the Ascend P8 official at today’s launch event in London. The Ascend P8 continues the metal body trend as seen in previous devices manufactured by Huawei. Making no mistake in the hardware department the Ascend P8 comes packed up to the gills with jaw dropping specifications.
Coming to the display we have a 5.2 inch 1080p display and runs a custom processor called Kirin 920. It’s developed by Huawei itself and is 64-Bit Octa core beast. When we pair this up with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 128 GB by microSD. If that was not enough we have Sony camera sitting at the backside which has 13 MP resolution along with optical image stabilization (OIS). Some software tweaks were too added to enhance the low light capability of the device. Reckoned as a super low light mode by the manufacturer.
The only thing which has got us worried is that this powerhouse is powered by a 2600 mAh non user removable battery. Although Huawei claims it should last a day and a half of moderate use. We will have to test the device hands on for any concrete evidence.
The device has been made available in 4 colors black, gold, silvery grey and champagne. Two versions are set to hit the market with the standard version priced at €499 and the premium version priced at €599. However US customers may have to wait before they lay their hands on this one as Huawei has said a cheaper version is set for launch in US market during summers.
