If you are an owner of the smaller sibling of Meizu M2 Note i.e. Meizu M2 then there may come a day when you will get bored of the UI that comes along with the Flyme OS 4.5.4 (or 4.5.3, depends from where you buy it). And for the same day we have found many options for you, options which could help you get back the lost interest you have in your device.
Here are few links to help you out (includes other ROMs for Meizu M2):
The custom ROM we have here is for Meizu M2 (not for M2 Note).
Note: Install or Flash this ROM own your own risk as failure in flashing the zip correctly can damage your device i.e. brick it. Also as you move forward with this, know that flashing custom ROM voids the company given warranty.
This custom ROM is a port from the Elephone P8000 firmware, but if you are unaware about firmware then search for it or look at the screenshots before installing it on your device.
- LED light alerts do not work
- Do share with us if you find more
- Ensure your device is rooted (Meizu M2)
- Install custom recovery (TWRP)
- Download the firmware
- Copy the zip onto your root
- Enter recovery mode (Hold power and volume + button together during the boot)
- Navigate to the location where you placed the zip and flash it
- Wipe dalvik and cache
The first boot will take much longer than usual so don’t get afraid or try to interfere with it, just wait for it to do its thing. Also if you sense that the device is getting hot or is getting warm, know that its normal and temperature will come down once the process is done.
If you are doing this for the first time then you should do enough research before going through with this as once your device is bricked there is no going back.
