Facebook has been busy with adding new features to its Messenger app like the ability to send money to friends, i.e. Messenger Platform and the introduction of Businesses on Messenger. And now it is the video calling, with voice calling already a part of the application in both iOS and Android. This new feature adds to the voice call and try to compete with the Skype which has been providing this for a long time.
Video calling in Messenger is platform independent when it comes to making calls from a mobile phone to another, i.e. if one person is on iOS and the other person is on an Android device still the feature would work. This is surely a added feature for 600 million people who use Messenger every month and will add some new eyes on the app.
For now, Video calling in Messenger is area specific i.e. people on iOS and Android in Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, France, Greece, Ireland, Laos, Lithuania, Mexico, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Poland, Portugal, the UK, the US and Uruguay are the only people that can try this. But no worries as the feature will continue to roll in other parts in the coming months.
