If you have been keeping a keen eye on the tech news then the name HP Spectre won’t be new to you but if you haven’t then Spectre is the latest laptop from HP which has taken the title of ‘world’s thinnest laptop’. HP took up the stage in the New York Times International Luxury Conference back in April where they claim that not only is ‘Spectre’ a luxury laptop, it is the thinnest and lightest too with just 10.4mm thickness and weighing just 1.11kg. In comparison to Apple’s latest MacBook which is just 13.1mm thick and the 14-inch laptop from LG which is about 12.7 mm. So, it definitely beats them there.
Well, that is the story of the slimmest part but it came out in the New York Times International Luxury Conference so what’s the luxury part. Along with the basic release, the laptop will also be available in two limited premium editions with first featuring the gold floral design by Tord Boontje and the second featuring the HP logo and power button encrusted in diamonds.
Also, both the limited edition variants will come with a the 18K gold-plated keyboards.
These variant were auctioned at the Cannes Film Festival in May with the proceeds going to the Nelson Mandela Foundation.
That is all the talk about what is outside. Lets, see what power does it come with inside.
With a screen-size of 13.3-inches, HP will providing a 1080p Gorilla Glass 4 protection display with an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor along with 512GB of flash storage, and 8GB of RAM. But due to the small size, the RAM is limited to just 8GB while the battery is promised to give up to 9.5 hours of run time from a single charge. The HP Spectre will have the Bang & Olufsen Audio with Quad Speakers sound.
The ultrabook will have three USB Type-C ports unlike one that Apple decided to provide with its 12-inch Macbook. Also, only two of these will be supporting Thunderbolt.
Rajiv Srivastava, Managing Director, HP India talks about HP Spectre by saying:
HP as India’s technology leader aims to make life better, productive and more fun. We are at the forefront of delivering industry-leading innovation and HP’s Spectre 13 is a beautifully crafted Notebook and a reflection of what many millennials aspire to be — exceptional, cool, dazzling, standing out from the crowd, but making an impact
Coming to price, the laptop will set you back by INR 1,19,900 (around $1,775) with sales starting from June 25.
