Nokia may return to the smartphone business by 2016. As revealed by the people closer to the Nokia, they believe that making Android tablets under the brand name isn’t suffice.
Reports from Recode says
“As early as next year, the company aims to rejoin the phone market, two sources briefed on Nokia’s plans told Re/code. In addition, the company has a number of other ambitious technology projects, including some in the virtual reality arena, these sources said.”
Nokia had sold its devices and services division to Microsoft in 2014. In the agreement made between the major tech giants Microsoft can continue to use the name “Nokia” until next year. After that Nokia can continue making smartphones.
What lies ahead for Nokia? No one knows. What software they would support? and many other questions still remain unanswered for the time being. Nokia may need to tighten the belt since it has to compete with many others for the market shares.
“The [Nokia Technologies] division has released just two products–an Android program called Zlauncher and the N1, an Android tablet design it licensed to another manufacturer that is selling it under the Nokia name in China. Its return to the market is likely to employ a similar tactic.”
Re/code has claimed that they are also be trying their hands on the Virtual reality. Again the details regarding this are limited be sure to stick with us for more info!.
